Attendance, Progress, Completion and Hours

Is there an attendance requirement?

Yes.  Even though a large portion of the curriculum and labs are available from anywhere at anytime, these are not online courses.  Yet.  Attendance is based on a percentage.  90% attendance is required.  If you miss 10 days in a row you will be  dropped from the program.

What Happens If I Miss A Day?

You miss out on anything you would have accomplished had you been here.  The hours are lost and deducted from your total remaining.  Of course you can always make up for lost time by doing work at home.  Something I like to call homework.

What Do You Mean By Hours?

Hours are actual clock hours and not semester hours.  When a program description says it is “180 hours” that means that from the day you start you have 180 hours of lab time to finish it.  Your lab sessions are 3 hours in length per day.  If you attend the day programs you have 5 days a week at 3 hourrs per day for a total of 15 hours per week.  If you attend the night program you do not have labs on Friday so you meet 12 hours per week.

How Is Progress Tracked?

Progress is based on how much work you completed and the quality of that work.  Your percentage of work complete is averaged with your percentage scored on each item.

All programs have a set number of hours in which the program must be completed.

Student who need additional time to complete a program may purchase up to 50% additional tuition hours for the program they are enrolled in.  Failure to complete a program after 150% of the time allowed will result in a student being unenrolled from that program.

For example, if you have enrolled in a program that is 180 hours and you feel you need more time to complete your training you may purchase an additional 90 hours.  After 270 hours (50% of 180) have elapsed and you have not completed your training you will be un-enrolled from that program.

For example, the first part of your grade is based on how much work you completed.  If your program is scheduled for 180 hours the formula is 180 lab hours at 3 hours per day is 60 lab days. If there are 10 chapters and exams for each then on the 30th lab day you should have completed 50% of the training since 50% of the time has passed.  If you have completed 50% of the training on that date this means that you have completed 100% of the required program to date.  The second part is the quality of your work.  If your scores have an average of 90%  then a simple average of 100% completion with 90% accuracy would be (100+90)/2=95%.

Your progress report would be 95%
